This is a touch of Deja Vu.

I've had to reinstall my DigiGuide and, unfortunately lost my original set up of DABDig with it.

Now, when I come to run it I'm faced with several errors.

The first is "Unusual line in ini file: TOTALRECORDER="

I've checked dabdig.ini & TOTALRECORDER= is the last line of the file.

Next comes "Problem accessing Leadtek WinFast Registry key - TaskNum"

The dabdig.txt log shows the following...

06/03/2006 07:06:07 - 2.55b19 - Problem accessing Leadtek WinFast registry key - TaskNum

06/03/2006 07:06:12 - 2.55b19 - - Error:0x80070002 -

I'm sure I had these self same problems when I first set up DABDig, but can't for the life of me remember what the solution was - and although I have TotalRecorder as a minor utility of software, I don't use it for this, so can I disable the TOTALRECORDER bit altogether? I've tried editing the TOTALRECORDER= to TOTALRECORDER=), but no effect - although deleting the line altogether does stop the error coming up - but is that likely to affect how the program works?

The errors come into being 9 mins before the marked recording time, so that may also need modifying to a shorter period - could you remind me as to what I need to adjust - I know previously I had it working on a 0 setting - I just can't remember what it was I set.

The "unusual line" bit can be ignored (DABDig will remove it from the dabdig.ini file itself I think). At least - it can be ignored if you are not using Total Recorder with DABDig.

The usual problem with Leadtek WinFast is the SchedToFile field.

Did you email me in the past with queries which we then resolved - if so - I might still have that email (but I don't see your mail address in my Leadtek folder)?

Yes I did e-mail you before with the same problem when I first installed DABDig, and it was fixed satisfactorily. The problem is that I can't remember for the life of me what the fix was.

I've manually deleted the TOTALRECORDER= line, which has got rid if the 'unusual line' error, but now just left with the Leadtek WinFast Registry TaskNum one.

Once I get this fixed I'll have to be sure to save a backup of the working ini file.

Would you have used a different email address back then? (I can search for it in my archive once I know what to look for)

Anyway - check the LeadtekSchedToFile field in your dabdig.ini

I used to default this to 0 - but more modern versions of the Leadtek software require you to set this to 1.

(I have since changed the default in DABDig to 1 for fresh installs)

I think we're nearly there.

Changing LeadtekSched to 1 stopped the TaskNum error.

However, it's still kicking in 9 mins before the scheduled time, going through the "Leadtek is already running ... I need to close it" routine, where it closes the video, but not the audio.

Previously, DABDig would only start up, closing & restarting Leadtek where necessary, at the precise time the programme was due to start, so I know it's capable of doing it that way.

If it's at all relevent (only a guess) I've noticed that PLAYIN & PLAYOUT are both set to 0. I've been looking for anything giving a clue to the 9 minutes (probably about 500 secs I would imagine), but without success.

Regarding email addresses, yes it's quite possible I may have been using a different address as I have quite a few, although I only actually regularly use a couple of these - the default one I am logged in with, and FourPart@... (same ISP).

The X minutes before comes from the marker default for the DABDigR marker. You can change it from the DigiGuide Edit markers/edit defaults/DABDigR/Alert screen.

However, make it too small and things won't work.

There might be other config items that can help ... but will have to wait until tomorrow before I can check again.

I've set the limit to the minimum acceptable value of 1 minute & things seems to be working now, apart from the audio remaining on when Leadtek resets before starting to record, but with it now being such a small amount of time it's no more than a minor irritation.

Thanks for your help.
