...not sure if I've set it up right though. Hi, firstly thanks for taking the time out to write, distribute and support some very useful software - much appreciated. I've spent the past few hours trying to get DABDig to act as an interface between DigiGuide and Web Scheduler and now appear to have succeeded I've done so more through trial and error as I've found the guides a little too tech heavy for me The basic solution I found was to rename all the Web Scheduler channels to their corresponding DigiGuide/Freeview channel numbers The only (minor) problem with this is that in Web Scheduler I no longer have channel names The questions I have are; 1) Is there a more elegant solution whereby I can keep channel names in Web Scheduler (and not sacrifice Freeview numbers in DigiGuide)? Whereabouts in documentation can i find this info? If I can work out the techy speak describing what I might already have done I'm sure I'll find it easier to understand further guides Cheers D

As a general rule - DABDig takes the given channel number from DigiGuide and passes it to the recording software. However, like many general rules - there are exceptions - quite a few in fact. WebScheduler is one of the interfaces that I had to have some special handling for. So by default, I think - I haven't gone back to double-check, DABDig will take the channel number from DigiGuide and pass it straight to WebScheduler. If that is not working - then use the native interface to WebScheduler to see how it expects the URL to be passed in when you record with it and then compare with what DABDig is sending when it issues a recording request (set TraceFlags=2 to see more in the dabdig.txt). If you do not want to reconfigure WebScheduler then you have 2 choices: a) change the channel numbers in DigiGuide to match what WebScheduler expects b) create a file called dabdig.map with the follwing syntax [WebScheduler] BBC 1=xxxxx BBC 2=yyyyy and (I think) change the value of WebSchedulerTakeNum in the dabdig.ini. The xxxxx and yyyyy above represent what you want sent to WebScheduler. The channel names on the left must match the channel names in DigiGuide. If it is still to complex to work out - just send me your dabdig.ini, dabdig.txt and (if created) dabdig.map plus explain what is still not working the way that you want it to work. I'll try b) the mapping option as from what I can make out - in my set-up at least - Web Scheduler expects a channel name and DigiGuide outputs a channel number many thanks for such a swift reply - I'll let you know how I get on

Note - you would only have to nake a map entry for the channel names that are not the same in both systems. See also this FAQ entry just in case other things turn up. Paul Webster DABDig creator |
