I'm getting "No scheduling slots left in Nebula DigiTV" again:

23/11/2005 20:50:00 - 2.54b09 - No scheduling slots left in Nebula DigiTV

23/11/2005 20:50:10 - 2.54b09 - Waiting in background until just after programme scheduled to end ...

After everything has been up & running for a week or two.

I have "NEBULADIGITVREUSETIMER=1" set in my dabdig.ini

I'm running Nebual 3.128

Any ideas?

I'm tempted to set up a timed reboot of the PC fro 1 am or something, as stopping and starting Nebula seems to clear it.

cheers,

James

I think that different versions of the Nebula software work in different ways.

One release used to delete the registry entry when the recording was complete (good), another used to clear one field in the registry entry when it completed (not so good - but it is what that dabdig.ini entry allows you to benefit from) and it looks like some versions only write out to the registry when DigiTV shutsdown.

I suspect that your is now performing in that last mode.

So - rather than rebooting the whole PC - it should be enough just to make DigiTV exit and then restart it (or let DABDig restart it).

If you have XP Professional (or some other toolset) ... you might find that

taskkill /im digitv.exe

will work (but try it first to see if it gives DigiTV chance to write out its registry contents before putting it onto the Windows Scheduler)

I could include some more agressive handling of the schedule item (i.e. deliberately overwriting entry that is old) ... but given that DigiTV 3.5.11 is supposed to revert back to the old way of writing to the registry in real-time then ... my suggestion is quit DigiTV every now and then (50 recordings should keep you going for a while).

Paul,

I had no idea I was behind on DigiTV - my version says 'up to date' when I check from the settings page - yet there is a v3.2.

Are you using any of the 3.5 betas? Just wondering whether to move to them.

Don't go to the DigiTV 3.5 beta yet - it has problems.

See this one.
