Hi,

After reading through this forus and various other that you have written to, I have managed to get my TV card to record using digiguides' scheduling.

However, although it records, my tv card wont change channels! It only records whatever channel it was on before recording. I have tried renaming the channels in winfast to 101, 102, 103 etc and then to BBC 1 London, BBC2 London etc and also renaming the channels in digiguide by right clicking and editing the names, but still no luck.

What do I have to do to get winfast to change channels for me?

Also, I think I managed to get dabdig to change the recording format to VCD to reduce the overall filesize so that I can download the movies from another remote pc (which file format is the best for small filesize BTW), by changing the following 'DEFAULTEXTENSION=VCN'. but what exactly does 'VCN' stand for and what is 'VCP' and all the other extentions?

Sorry for the rambling, but I'm really confused Frown

Regarding the extension ... it is just a look-up into LeadtekTVTypeToCompress - which in turn is translated into a number starting from 0 (this is convoluted because of how old versions of the Leadtek software work).

So - VCN is the 7th in the list.

If you look in the Leadtek GUI and try to schedule a recording and choose a format type then you will get a drop-down list. That list corresponds to LeadtekTVTypeToCompress. So just count down to the 7th one and that is what VCN would generate.

(if you look at an entry in the Leadtek scheduling GUI that was entered by DABDig then you should see the matching field)

(Old versions of the Leadtek software used the letters not the number - hence my use of letters)

As for the channel changing ... if there is a given channel number then it is passed directly into the Leadtek sofwtare. Is there a chance that your channel numbers are set incorrectly - e.g. what is BBC Two?

Email me your dabdig.txt and dabdig.ini and I'll see if I can work out what is wrong.

Resolved.

Was using Sky channel numbers (e.g. 101, 102) but the Leadtek software was connected to regular terrestrial broadcast and needed 1,2,3 etc.
