Hi. I may need some basic advice here. Have FusionHDTV DVT-B pci card which I want to configure with DABDIG so that myHTPC can use it. Can't find any Fusion devices in dabdig.ini.Can anyone point me to a site or advise how to configure the card/ini file? AM VERY happy with this card by the way. excellent quality recordings on my pentium III 1Ghz computer! Any help gratefully received.

The inital work I did on driving the Fusion card was experimental - and I don't think I put it into a released version.

My recollection is that I found some people that were interested but I didn't get much testing feedback.

For example - see this blog entry.

If you are interested in helping progress this one then send me a note and I'll email you a beta.

Thanks Paul, I would be interested in testing you Beta, though I suspect for me to meaningfully assist with it I would need to do a fair bit of reading around the subject to get up to speed on the issues. I'm not a programmer or experienced with digitial cards.

The card though is worth working on it as it has been awarded best digital card in prominent Australian computer magazines,is well priced, has good software, is easy to use and the quality is excellent. Beat Aver, Hauppage etc.

Happy to try what you have, pad the explanation a little for me?

Cheers David B.

Sorry about the delay Paul, thanks for the beta. Tried putting dabdig in c:\dabdig and dos prompt scheduling a record, manually set the "usefusionhdtv=1" as it didn't auto detect. Got an error message 'could not find any devices to action'. Looked in the recording scheduling software for dvico and no recording set.

I take it you don't want me to do anything with HTPC at this stage. Perhaps you can help me get the concept right - DABDIG has to try to insert a recording code into the fusion software mdb file? But how does dabdig know where the file is? And how does 'liveTV' in htpc link in with dabdig and DVico fusion card?

Cheers, David

p.s I'm knew to forums so it replying via forum better than direct e-mail so others can follow the thread?

"No devices to action" usually means that DABDig has been told that there is a default device but the matching USE flag has not been set.

Check the value of DefaultDevice - for now ... this should be empty.

Then - increase the level of tracing - TraceFlags=4

This particular device is in very early days of support - and has no support to initiate live viewing ... although it could pretty easily invoke their GUI so that you could then change channels within their software rather.

Driving it by command line rather than with myHTPC gives you more direct control during this development phase. Once the basics are working then getting it to work from the myHTPC EPG should be relatively easy (you can fo the linkage now if you want - you will have to download the .wsc file from the old myHTPC add-ins page).

Using the forums is fine - but if large files are needed then please email rather than pasting into a forum message because I can use the file more readily when I get it as an attachment.

Thanks Paul, have got Dabdig to insert codes into the fusion dbf file. Looking at the G codes in this database the digital channel numbers seen to be digits 6 and 7 after the 'M'. i.e (SBS is channel 33 on by card), Can't work out what the next 2 digits are but they are also unique to each channel. the last 2 digits before the date codes seem to be sub-channel numbers. Will e-mail you the mdb file and a screen gap of the fusion recording scheduler to match it.

Cheers, David.

Oops I meant Fusion 'mdb' file not 'dbf'.

Paul, thanks for the feedback. Fusion stores the channel data in the registry. it's there even when antenna is disconected etc. Two screen captures attached. Looks pretty complicated but the channel data seems to be there in the favourites sub-ch key. Last channel data (air default channel) is also there in the Reg and matches up with the favourites (digits 13 & 14). I can work on this if you think that you can have the energy to take things further with DAbDig. I take your point about Media portal. Why re-invent the wheel? happy to wait to see what M-P can do, but for in the mean-time can you help with 1) advising on getting DABDig plugin to register properly with HTPC. ran the WSC from c:\dabdig, but myHTPC.txt states it isn't registered. also ran it from MyHTpc same result. Put the dabdig files in the myHTPC but still no change. I don't really understand 'registration'. Should I unregister before trying again? Do I need to use any other plugins as well. Also how critical is the naming and matching of the channels.ini file in My HTPC(I have an EPG working well in HTPC and would like to work on this).
