Hello Mr Webster Using your Dabdig sofar excellent on DigiTV 3.5.07 build. So thanks. How Do I record the radio in MP3? The Nebula only gives MP2 as an option? Cheers The Little Question. Is there a way to look in one place at all the recording markers I have set so I can see at a glance what I have set to record please?

I don't think that there is an option within the Nebula software - so one way to do it would be to use the post-Processing function of DABDig to invoke a tool that could convert. Perhaps LAME. Note - sometimes ... just renaming an MP2 file to MP3 will make it work in your non-MP2-aware players. Also - if you set DigiTV to record in DVD-compatible format then I think that it has an even better chance of working. See this thread for some ideas.
Yes - within DigiGuide just enter :dabdigr into the Find box at the top of the screen. Paul Webster DABDig creator

I'm looking for a way to automatically convert an MP2 recording via Nebula's DigiTV. For this to work the MP2 file has to be stript of its transport stream and then compressed with Lame. Ideally I'd like to add the programme information from DigiGuide as a Tag. Cananyone help with Batch writing, I don't seem able to even get the simplest of batches to work! eg. I saved the following line in a text file called Convert.BAT, lame.exe -h %1.MP2 %1.mp3 I tried dropping the MP2 file onto the BAT file but all I get is an error message sating it can't fine Lame.exe The MP2, BAT and Lame.exe are all in the same folder. Any suggestions? Martin

The error is a little odd - but I don't think it would have worked anyway - because the file that you dropped onto the batch file would have had a .mp2 extension already. it is possible that the error message was from Lame saying that it could not find the file rather than from Windows saying it could not fine Lame? In any case - the this long thread for some general thoughts about doing things in this area. For your batch file - first get it working from "DOS" command line. Start/Run/Cmd NOTE - titles with spaces in their names will require special handling - so when doing your initial testing just use simple file name without spaces. Once things are basically working - it is then easy to make DABDig issue the same command line - and use the parameter substitution to send over the right details. Another user on this forum came up with a superb automated mp2 to mp3 system running along the lines of what you're doing (see the long thread ref'd above)- it works really really well - I don't know whether it's possible to post to this site, if not, email me and I'll send you the bits (it won't be till monday though) if you can't find what you need on the ref'd thread. BTW I set the Lame job up as low priority, and run nebula in high priority mode, otherwise the lame process screws up recordings on my PC. The User Squire, e-mailed me his batch file to automate the mp2 to mp3 conversion process. It works great, thanks.

Hi, I have had a couple more requests for my automated MP2toMP3 conversion, so I have now uploaded it to my website: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/simpson.mark/scripts.html or direct download: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/simpson.mark/mp2mp3.zip kind regards, Squire.

Thank Mark. I have put a link to it in the draft of the main DABDig page for the next update (I hope to get one out around Christmas). Paul Webster DABDig creator Edited by Paul Webster on Saturday, November 26, 2005 - 6:28:10 AM
